Hello future brides and grooms!
Planning your dream wedding is one of the most exciting parts of your engagement- unfortunately, trying to plan a wedding in 2020 during the Coronavirus crisis adds a layer of stress that most couples aren't prepared for. You're left with so many questions- do we postpone our wedding to 2021? Do we keep our original date? Do we elope? I can only imagine the frustration that comes with having to change wedding plans last minute. No matter the decision, any 2020 wedding is going to be different than you originally planned. But that is okay!
It's okay to be sad or upset. Just know that there are so many vendors who are rooting for you and will do anything they can to make the process easier for you.
I have been thinking about future 2020 couples and what they're going through. Here is a list of some positive things that could come from any decision you make regarding your wedding.

Elope
There are a lot of pros to eloping. The biggest one? You'll get to spend intimate, quality time with your partner, and closest friends / family. Big weddings are so much fun, but often times you blink and realize the day is over and you hardly got to see your new husband/wife! Eloping ensures you'll spend your whole day together celebrating your love and commitment to each other. Eloping is also a much more affordable option, which is beneficial to a lot of people suffering the effects of Covid-19. And lastly, you'll get to completely make your elopement about you and your partner! You can say your vows almost anywhere, and thankfully Southern Oregon / Northern California has so many beautiful locations to run away to! A mountaintop, the forest, the beach, the Redwoods- you can create a fantasy that completely tells your love story!
Postpone for Late Summer / Fall 2020
It seems as though a large portion of Southern Oregon is starting to slowly open up shop again. Talk to your partner and close friends/family about what they are comfortable with. Call your venue coordinator and see what precautions / guidelines they have in place regarding Covid-19. If your venue is following CDC guidelines and are booking weddings in the fall, postponing could be an option for you! The weather is still pretty warm, so if you're wanting an outdoor ceremony you will still be in luck!
Keep the line of communication open with guests, especially with those that may be traveling. If you have already signed contracts with your vendors, read through them again and discuss the possibility of postponing to a later date.
Postpone for 2021
If waiting until 2021 is the best option for you as a couple, you'll want to talk to all your vendors regarding your new date. Let's be real, 2020 has been an awful year. Postponing means now you get to start fresh, and make 2021 one of the greatest years yet!
Sending out new save the date cards is one of the first ways to make sure all your guests are on the same page. Consult with all your venue and all creative vendors and make sure they have your new wedding date open. This also gives you plenty of time to scroll Pinterest and put together new vision boards for your big day!
The most important thing to keep in mind during these crazy and unpredictable times, is love always wins! The love your share with your partner is beautiful, and deserves to be celebrated!
I am here for you every step of the way!
